Can I make an appointment if I've never seen a McGovern doctor before?
Of course! New patients are always welcome. Please have ready your insurance policy
number, phone number, and whether you have a PCP (primary care physician)
before you call or provide this information on our form below.
Is there anything special I should know about appointments?
Since allergy testing is possible, you should not take any antihistamines for seven
(7) days prior to your first appointment. You may continue all other medications.
We usually schedule two appointments for a complete allergy evaluation, including
skin testing.
If you will need housing while you are here, we have a list of hotels in the vicinity that offer medical rates and transportation to and from our Clinic. This list is available by
mail, e-mail or FAX. If you need a map to our Clinic, just click on the map at our
website. If you make your appointment by phone, we can mail, e-mail or FAX this information to you.
What do I need to bring to my appointment if I am a new patient?
Please bring your insurance card and referral, if needed, from your PCP.
If I am an established patient, do I need to bring anything?
You need not bring anything unless you've changed insurance or PCP since your last
visit or, if your insurance requires a referral for each visit, please bring that referral.

Payment Policy and Insurance
The McGovern Allergy and Asthma Clinic makes
every effort to keep its fees for services as low
as possible. Prompt payment allows us to keep the
cost related to our services down. Your bill is
your responsibility, even if you have insurance. The clinic's
general policy is to collect payment for all
services at the time of each visit. There are
certain insurance carriers (HMOs/PPOs/IPAs) with
which we have contracted to provide services
under special rules. At the time your appointment
was scheduled, our representative informed you as
to whether or not your carrier qualified. If so,
we ask that you pay all required deductible and
copayment amounts at the time of your visit. Do
not forget to bring any required authorization
forms with you. Failure to do so may result in a
delay of your appointment. If we do not file with
your insurance company, please bring one of your
carrier's claim forms with you with the
applicable patient and employer information
filled in. We will complete the form and mail it
for you.
